Todayte was created by two friends who believed that the existing online dating options delivered a mostly terrible experience. Online dating was time consuming and fraught with problems like harassment, dishonestly and poor matchmaking criteria. The whole idea behind online dating was supposed to be helping people find great dates. But there wasn’t a service that really achieved that goal elegantly and efficiently. Online dating required endless profile searches, swiping, winking, poking, emailing, chatting and often included spam and trolling. But for a third of users, online dating never resulted in an actual date.

In a time when you could book a car, or a house, or a table, or a ticket, simply and easily from your mobile device, why couldn’t you just book a date? Why didn’t online dating sites provide a simple way to connect people? That’s the question that Todayte answers.

Todayte is a new way to think about online dating. You don’t search for people. You search for something to do at a time that suits you. When you find an activity you like, at a time that’s convenient, only then do you look at a profile. Since you’re already interested in the activity, and the timing is right, maybe you’ll be more willing to give it a try. Maybe you’ll be less inclined to overthink a photo or scrutinize a description. Because you’re excited to have that dinner, or that drink, or that cup of coffee. When you hit “accept” to the date you’ve chosen, you’re done. Assuming that person hits “accept” as well, your date is booked. Then you’re free to chat on the app if you want. Or not. Just make sure to show up for your date (we’ll help you remember).

That’s it. If it’s sounds simple, that’s because it is. And that’s what modern, mobile dating should be. A simple way to connect people on dates that sound fun at times that make sense. You won’t have to sift through endless unsolicited advances from strangers. You won’t have to worry about being approached by trolls or bots. And you won't spend hours of wasted time online.

There are a bunch of fun features we’ve added to make sure you get the most out of the experience. You can add dates to a “maybe list” if you’re not quite sure you’re ready to hit “accept.” And you can even add people to a wish list if you can’t make it on a date they’re currently offering but you might like to see other dates they post.

Todayte is free to use, but the person posting the date will have to pay to book the date. This ensures that the people posting dates are serious about getting together, but it also means that no one is paying for a service that leaves them disappointed.

Great relationships don’t start from great algorithms. They start from great first dates. And if you can’t find a date, then you can’t find a partner. Todayte let’s you stop searching and start dating.
